Welcome to the Virginia Gallery
I'm Gordon Johnston, and this is my website. I started reading comics as a kid in the '80s, with the Dandy and the Eagle. Twenty years later and I'm still reading comics; my reading material has moved on, although admittedly not by far. For seven years now I've also been sporadically producing comic strips of my own.
The contents of this site are sort of an amalgamation of both these activities. You'll find a variety of eclectic comic strips to read online, that vary from one-off political thrillers to multi-chapter urban fantasies. But where possible, I'll also be paying tribute to some of the comics which have got my bacon sizzling for the last 2 decades, and to the new ones which are currently blowing up my skirt today.
So please, check out the headlines bar on the right for news of the latest comic strips that have been posted. I've even managed to wangle some artwork from guest small-press artists, so keep your eyes peeled for that around the site. Also, be sure to check out the links and monologues sections for my recommendations on some of my favourite comics from today and yesteryear.
If you enjoy what you find here, would like paper copies of any of the comics, or would like to get in touch for any reason, please send me an email at bigangryrabbit@yahoo.co.uk, or click the link at the bottom of the page. And most importantly, tell everyone you know; visitors are always welcome at the Virginia Gallery!
